Biola University Athletics

2006: Consistent defensive contributor for the Eagles…one of just four players to appear in all 32 matches…had 245 digs (2.19/game) in the back row…also committed just 31 receiving errors in 344 attempts…had a team-best 45 service aces including four in a match on three separate occasions…had a season-high 18 digs in a three-game win over Notre Dame de Namur (8/25/06).

2005: Played in all 30 matches as a true freshman…had 47 digs (0.42/game) and 26 service aces…had four aces in a five-game win over Vanguard (9/22/05).

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterwinner at Santa Margarita High School in Rancho Santa Margarita...helped team to a CIF Section championship and a berth in the State finals…earned “Trigonometist of the Year” honors in a school competition.
 
PERSONAL: Major is Communications…parents are Steve and Connie Rutenbar…has four siblings, brothers Jake (26) and Kyle (23) and sisters Erin (25) and Courtney (21)…Both parents and siblings Jake and Erin are Biola grads...Dad played basketball and baseball at Biola and is the missions pastor at Saddleback Community Church...Mom played tennis at Biola...Her uncle played baseball at Biola and her grandfather played for the Chicago White Sox.
