CORONA, Calif. --- Biola Men's  Golf had a strong second day at Eagle Glen Golf Course to improve to a tie for 11^th at the CBU Spring Invitational.
 
Head Coach Hank Woodrome's team dropped 10 strokes from its second round score on Monday in order to move up three places on the leaderboard.
 
Austin Bishop again paced the team's efforts as the freshman scored a team-low 74. He finished the tournament tied for sixth overall with a 217 (+1). The freshman's tournament effort was so fantastic that he finished 14 strikes ahead of Biola's second best finisher.
 
"Austin is one of the best freshman in the NAIA," said Woodrome. "He was battling illness and still played excellent golf."
 
Kyle McAbee, also a freshman, was the Eagles' second-best finisher for the tournament. He sandwiched two 75s around a second-round 81 to finish in a tie for 40^th with a 231 (+15).
 
William Langworthy, the team's senior captain playing in his final regular season tournament, finished just behind McAbee. He also shot a 75 on the final day of competition to finish with a 232 (77|80|74).
 
"With Austin, Kyle and Dominic Ariondo all playing well the future looks bright for Biola Golf," said Woodrome.
 
Ariondo finished tied for 76^th with a three-round tally of 237 (80|83|80).  He and Dominic Rodriguez finished as the Eagles' fourth and fifth scorers. Rodriguez finished tied for 82^nd with a 248 while improving each round of the tournament (84|83|81).
