Another Honor For Bishop

Austin Bishop adds an All-PacWest recognition to his resume to wrap up a great career with Biola Men’s Golf.

May 02, 2019

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The PacWest office honored senior Austin Bishop of Thursday with his first All-PacWest honor after Bishop earned a top-10 finish at the PacWest Golf Championships with a score of 220.

This is the second all-conference during his four-year career for Bishop, who was also given the Dr. Dave Holmquist Career Achievement Awards a few weeks ago in a year-end ceremony sponsored by Biola SAAC.

The Glendora, California-native was named to the All-PacWest Third Team after posting the best scoring average of his collegiate career (75.48) and earning two top-10 finishes. That scoring average was the third-best mark in the history of Biola Men's Golf and his 220 score in the PacWest Championships was his best score over 54 holes since March 2016.

He'll finish his career as a consensus top-two player in program history after finish second in top-five and top-10 finishes while carrying the distinction as the only Eagle to win multiple tournaments during his career: the ERAU Co-Ed Invitational in October 2016 and the PCH Invitational in November 2017.

Bishop finished off his career by playing par or better in five of his 21 rounds this season and concluded the season with six-straight sub-80 rounds.

Biola Men's finished its tenure by moving up a spot at the PacWest Championships in 2019 with a sixth-place finish. The team score of 909 also tied for the best three-round total in over two years for the Eagles.
