PHOENIX, Ariz. --- After a three-month layoff Biola Men's Golf got back into action at Moon Valley Country Club in the first two rounds of play at the Arizona Christian Spring Invite.

The Eagles finished the first 18 holes among the top half of the 13-team field, but a slow second round dropped Head Coach Hank Woodrome's team to ninth place overall. Biola shot a 295 in the first round and followed with a 304 in round two to slot in 24 strokes back from the leading team, Johnson & Wales.

"The morning round went well. We started a little slow but finished strong," said Woodrome. "Just never got anything going in the afternoon. Not horrible scores, just average. Hopefully we can do a little better tomorrow."

Freshman Kyle McAbee finished with the lowest score among Biola golfers. He's tied for 22^nd after following her opening round 73 with a 75.

McAbee's 73 was the best round one score, while Senior William Langworthy shot the best in the second 18 holes. He followed his round one 76 with a 74 to sit in a tie at 33^rd (+6).

Langworthy was the only Eagle to drop his score between the first and second rounds of the day.

Peter French of Johnson & Wales dominated the field with a two-round score of -10. He was six strokes ahead of the second-place golfer.

Play resumes with the final 18 holes at Moon Valley Country Club on Tuesday morning. The course was playing with a difficult layout and fast greens at 7,216 yards.
