Biography

2007: Continued her dominate play as a junior, playing 37 matches and 126 games…repeated as an NAIA First-Team All-American after recording 526 kills (4.17/game), 201 digs (1.60/game) and 59 (0.47/game), 27 aces and 21 assists…also named to the All-GSAC and All-Region II squads…earned NAIA National Championship All-Tournament team honors with 81 kills (4.50/game) adding 14 blocks and 12 digs in five matches…named to the ESPN The Magazine/ College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-District Academic Team and also earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors while maintaining a 4.00 GPA in mathematics…posted a season-high 26 kills in Biola’s five-game win over Columbia (Mo.) at the NAIA National Championships (11/29/07)…also recorded a 19-kill match in 27 total attacks with just two errors in a pool play win over the University of Mobile (11/28/07).

2006: Posted one of the best individual seasons by an volleyball player in Biola history...recorded a school-record 629 kills, averaging 5.82 per game en route to NAIA First-Team All-America honors…also earned All-GSAC and All-Region II honors…established school record with 31 kills in a three-game sweep over The Master’s (9/9/06) and posted the second-highest total in Biola history with 33 kills in a five-game loss at Azusa Pacific (10/17/06)…eclipsed the 30-kill plateau on four different occasions and had 20-plus kills in 18 matches…earned GSAC and Region II Player of the Week honors for the week of 9/11/06 after her 31-kill performance over the Master’s…finished with 248 digs (2.30/game), 54 blocks (0.50/game) including 11 block solos, 24 aces and 14 assists.

2005 (Pepperdine University): Scheenstra played in 18 matches for the Waves as a red-shirt freshman…helped Pepperdine to a 19-12 overall record as the team reached the NCAA Regional Semifinals…recorded 32 kills (1.00/game), 43 digs (1.34/game), three blocks and one ace.

2004 (Pepperdine University): Was a medical redshirt after suffering a leg injury in her first season at Pepperdine.

HIGH SCHOOL: Named the Fresno Bee Player of the Year as a senior at Christian Valley High School in Visalia…also named to the Fab 50 by prepvolleyball.com and Volleyball Magazine that season…twice named Visalia Times Delta All-Area Player of the Year as well as East Sierra League MVP as a junior and senior…helped CVCHS to a 32-3 record during her final year and a 26-6 record during her junior campaign…finished her career with an overall hitting percentage of .439…also played varsity basketball in her first two years at the school, earning East Sierra League First-Team honors as a sophomore.

PERSONAL: Major is Mathematics…parents are Steve and Loretta Scheenstra…formerly Meghan Scheenstra…married Jeff Warkentin during the summer of 2007…has two younger siblings, sister Kacie (21) and brother Ryan (17).
