Danita Estorga Joins Biola Women's Basketball

Biola adds 6-foot-1-inch stretch forward as it joins PacWest conference.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. --- Danita Estorga has been a leading voice at Righetti High School for years now. The stretch forward has played varsity basketball for the Warriors for four years, she is active in her student government, and she has helped steer her team to two consecutive PAC 8 league championships.

During that time, the sports staff at Lee Central Coast Newspapers named Estorga MVP for the all-area team in 2016 and offensive player of the year in 2017.

"We are very excited to sign Danita," said Head Coach Alan Nakamura. "She is a servant; a doer with high integrity, who has a heart for the Lord and for people. Danita is the type of person, student and athlete we are looking to build our program with."

During 41 games during her junior and senior seasons, Estorga filled the stat sheet with averages of 15.6 points-per-game, 8.2 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.8 blocks-per-game. She scored over 1,000 points during her four years with the Warriors while seeing time at all five positions on the floor.

Estorga profiles as a forward/wing with a good touch from three for the Eagles and plans to major in psychology at Biola.

"We have been blessed to add wonderful people to our program over the past few years and we are confident Danita will continue that tradition," said Nakamura. "She is a serious student in the classroom and is a versatile team-first player on the floor who is willing to do whatever her team needs."

Estorga will begin classes at Biola next fall and suit up for the Eagles beginning this November.
