SAN MARCOS, Calif. --- Biola Men's Golf dropped 15 strokes between Monday's round two and Tuesday's round three at the CSU San Marcos Fujikura Invitational, but unfortunately for the Eagles most of the other teams saw improvement as well, resulting in a 15^th-place finish for the team.
 
"The bad weather dissipated today and with it scores began to improve," said Head Coach Max Allen. "The improvement was nice but there is a bigger problem. I've noticed that the greater skill you have the less bad luck you have. We need to get to that place. And it starts tomorrow in practice."
 
The Eagles shot a 314 on Tuesday morning as conditions were cold like yesterday, but the rain and wind subsided just a bit. The 314 brought the team's three-round total to 971 (+107) and left them in 15^th place of the 15 teams at the tournament.

The highlight of the day had to be Kaden Page's team-best 75. The 75 was the lowest round shot by any Eagle at any stage of this tournament and was a new season-best for the first-year player. He carded an 80 yesterday, which was his previous season-best.
 
"Kaden played a steady round of golf," said Allen. "He made very few mistakes but also very few birdies. He had plenty of opportunities hitting 13 greens in regulation in the final round but just missed them."
 
Look for Page's conversion rate on those birdie opportunities to increase as he gets more and more collegiate tournaments under his belt as the season rolls along.
 
Austin Bishop and Kyle McAbee were the two other Eagles to shoot under 80 during the final day of competition. Both men carded 79s to set their best round of the tournament and score closer to their season averages of 77.8 and 78.0, respectively.
 
Bishop finished as the Eagles' highest individual finisher. He completed his tournament with a 239 (81-79-79 | +23) and tied for 43^rd overall.
 
Biola Men's Golf will get back to the practice course for the next week or so leading up to its next competitive tournament at the ACU Spring Invitational from Feb. 20-21.
