LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Men's Golf ended its season over a month ago, but on Thursday the NAIA released its list of Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, which included two Biola student-athletes.
 
A duo of juniors, Kevin VandeKamp and Fletch Martin, were honored with the academic award after maintaining a cumulative grade point average above 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.
 
It is both player's first career Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor.
 
VandeKamp appeared in five tournaments this season, compiling a total of 14 tournament rounds and shooting an average of 81.79 strokes. His best individual finish came at the season-opening ACU Firestorm Invite when he placed 29^th (+22). He is an accounting major.
 
This was Martin's first season with Men's Golf. He spent his freshman and sophomore seasons playing men's basketball. He played two rounds for the Eagles in 2014-15, averaging an 88.5. His best round was an 88, coming in the first round of the ACU Firestorm Invite.
 
One-hundred sixty-five student-athletes were honored across the NAIA. Martin and VandeKamp were the only student-athletes from the Golden State Athletic Conference to earn the recognition.
