Lewis-Clark State Takes Home The Win

Biola falls to No. 17 Lewis-Clark State (ID), 2-7.

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola falls back to even .500 after its second-straight loss. The Eagles took two of nine from Lewis-Clark State College (ID) on Monday afternoon at home.

Biola won one singles match and one doubles match and competed well in one other singles contest, but aside from those three matches was simply overpowered by the No. 19 Warriors.

The Eagles' wins came at No. 2 doubles, where Luke Mountain and Philip Westwood blew past their opponents with smart decision-making, earning an 8-4 victory, and at No. 6 singles, where David Garcia won in three sets, despite losing the middle set, 6-0.

Westwood also had a close singles match, losing the opening set 5-7 before picking up a 6-0 win of his own in the second set before ultimately losing 11-9 in a super tie breaker.

Biola drops to 10-10 with the loss while Lewis-Clark State improved to 3-5 on the year. Biola gets back to conference play on Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. match at No. 9 Concordia (10-6, 7-3 GSAC).
