Men's Golf Adds Transfer From Monterey

Dom Rodriguez will come in as a sophomore next fall.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa --- Dom Rodriguez will pick up his golf bag and ship it down the coast as he relocates from Monterey Peninsula College to Biola to join the Eagles' men's golf program in 2015-16.

"I attended Biola Bound in the fall and right away I felt like God wanted me there and fell in love with it," said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez graduated from George Washington High School in 2014 before spending this last school year competing for the Lobos in Monterey, California. He got off to a fantastic academic start to his college career, posting a 4.0 grade point average in his first year, a good sign as he joins a golf team that is perennially a NAIA Scholar Team.

Dom's history of academic success did not just begin in college, but he was also a standout student in high school, placing on the honor roll as a part of the honors program with distinction from 2011-14.

He was also a four-sport athlete at points in his athletic career, playing football, basketball, soccer and, of course, golf in his time at George Washington.

In golf, he was All-Metro First Team in 2013, All-Metro Second Team in 2012 and all-conference second team during both of those years. During his senior season he led his team to state, which was the first time in 10 years for the Warriors' golf program.

Rodriguez begins at Biola in fall of 2015 and plans to study business. He hopes to enter a career in business and manage properties.
