CORONA, Calif. --- Seven of the 10 individual rounds posted by Biola golfers on Monday fell in the 70s. That equated to back-to-back team totals of 310 (+22) to stick Biola in a tie for 14^th after two rounds at the CBU Men's Invitational.
 
"The guys fought hard today," said Head Coach Hank Woodrome. "Most of the guys fought back after poor starts. I was very proud of the way they finished."
 
Biola had two different individual round leaders on a day where the field as a whole averaged a 76 in each of the two rounds. Kevin VandeKamp led the Eagles' opening round with a new season-low score of 75 (+3). He and Samuel Shih both shot 76s (+4) to lead Biola's scoring in the afternoon round.

The lowest score in the field came in Justin Shluker's (Sonoma State) second round. He shot a 67 (-5), which combined with his round one 75 (+3) to put him in a tie for first place at 142 (-2).
 
VandeKamp is the Eagles' leading two-round scorer at 151 (+7). He came into play in this tournament with the third-highest scoring average on the team, but is bringing that 82.64 average down significantly. He is tied for 31^st overall on the individual leaderboard with one round to play.
 
Shih and Lucas Kinan are behind him, having virtually identical days on the scorecard. They both shot 78s (+6) in the morning round before dropping strokes in the afternoon 18 holes. Shih sits in a tie for 50^th with a 154 (+10) and Kinan is in a deadlock at 56^th with his 155 (+11). These two were the only Eagles to drop strokes between rounds.
 
Biola sits three strokes behind Notre Dame de Namur and Northwest Nazarene, who are tied for 12^th place and with within 10 strokes of Hawaii Pacific in 10^th place. The field is dominated primarily by NCAA Division II schools and is led by Simon Fraser at 581 (+5).

"We have set a goal of four rounds in the 70s. If we do that, we will be competitive and consistent," said Woodrome.
 
The final round at Eagle Glen Golf Club takes place on Tuesday.
