ENCINITAS, Calif. --- Alexis Beery is a sprinter with a heart of gold who comes to Biola after spending her high school career split between La Costa Canyon HS and Fusion Academy.
 
Beery got a varsity letter in track & field during her freshman and sophomore seasons at La Costa Canyon. She led her team to compete at the CIF Championships during her sophomore season.
 
Beery is a great athlete, also competing in basketball for the Mavericks. She will run the 200m, 400m, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay for Biola.
 
"Alexis is an exceptional young woman who brings a dose of confidence and conviction to the team" said Assistant Coach Collin Christensen. "I look forward to her re-entering into a competitive mindset and succeeding at the college level."
 
Beery did not compete at Fusion Academy, but she made good use of her time there by founding the Random Acts Of Kindness club during her junior year at Fusion Academy.
 
"Alexis is such a friendly, outgoing and passionate girl. I look forward to having her as a teammate next year," said Nicole Falkenstein.
 
Beery will begin at Biola in the fall of 2015 and plans to major in early childhood education. She hopes to begin a career helping special needs kids after she graduates.
 
"I knew as soon as I walked on the campus that God was calling me to Biola," said Beery. "I love everything about Biola, especially the strong Christian community and the team spirit."
