Miller Continues Award-Winning Year

Biola freshman claims second PacWest Freshman of the Year honor

LA MIRADA---Grant Miller's standout freshman campaign earned conference recognition as he was named the PacWest Men's Track Freshman of the Year.

"Grant had to fight really hard to win the 1500 title this year," stated head coach Sean Henning. "The Fresno Pacific guy was very strong and it took everything for Grant to get to the finish line first. He has learned a lot this year and the future is bright for him. We look forward to watching him develop over the new few years."

Miller quickly established himself as one of the PacWest's top distance runners, earning a conference title and All-PacWest recognition in the 1,500m. The freshman paced the conference in the event throughout the season, finishing the year with a personal-best time of 3:47.85. His mark ranked first in the PacWest and came just one second shy of the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard.

Miller's success extended beyond the 1,500m, showcasing his versatility across multiple distance events. He finished the regular season ranked second in the conference in the 3,000m with a time of 8:24.23, fourth in the 5,000m at 14:36.98 and seventh in the 800m with a personal-best mark of 1:54.12.

The award marks Miller's second Freshman of the Year honor from the PacWest this academic year. He was also named the PacWest Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Year following an outstanding fall campaign.
