Eagles Showcase Depth in Irvine

Top-10 finishes and strong sprint performances pace Biola

IRVINE, Calif. --- The Biola track and field team completed the weekend in Irvine, competing in sprints and field events.

Leading the way on the track, Donovan Tommy delivered one of the team's top performances of the day, placing seventh in the 100m with a time of 10.62. In the hurdles, Hannah Hanson just missed the podium but still impressed with a fourth-place finish in the 100m hurdles, clocking 14.13. On the men's side of the hurdles, Joaquin Ramirez secured another top-10 result, finishing eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.32.

In the field events, Hope Willis added to the top finishes with a fifth-place mark in the discus, reaching 49.95 meters. Autumn Murray rounded out the top-10 performers with a 10th-place finish in the triple jump at 11.17 meters, while also competing in the 100m hurdles where she placed 14th (15.04).

Several Eagles contributed valuable performances across multiple events. Brayden Watson finished 11th with a time of 14.87 and Caleb Pook finished 13th with a time of 15.24 in the 110m hurdles. Audrey Mousa and Ariana Quintana ran a 24.86 and 25.70 respectively in the 200m. Tyler Poltl finished with a 10.76 in the 100m, while Caden Hunter and Quintana both ran in the 100m finishing with times of 12.06 and 12.59 respectively.

The 400m group saw Gracie Heath (59.30) and Sophia Day (1:01.20) compete, with both also doubling back in the 200m. Heath recorded a time of 26.46, while Day finished in 28.20.
Depth in the sprints continued with Richie Nawa'akoa (11.08) and Steven Cuevas (11.19) in the 100m, both returning in the 200m with times of 22.14 and 22.47, respectively. Gabriel Da Silva rounded out the sprint group with times of 11.74 in the 100m and 23.77 in the 200m.

In the throws, Kaiden Gonzales competed in both the shot put (14.83m) and discus (48.61m), while Logan Thompson recorded marks of 13.24m in the shot put and 38.63m in the discus. Leah Gilmore added a throw of 38.85 meters in the discus.


The Eagles will close out their season at APU next weekend, May 8-9th.
