LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola University Athletics Director
Dr. Dave Holmquist announces the resignation of Head Men's Tennis Coach David Goodman after two seasons at his post.
Â
"I though David was terrific in all respects," said Holmquist. "It is a big loss for us, but I am still very excited about his future."
Â
Goodman coached the men's team through the 2013 and 2014 seasons after four years as an NAIA All-American student-athlete at Azusa Pacific University. He compiled an 11-33 overall record and 5-15 mark against Golden State Athletic Conference foes.
Â
The 2014 season was a marquee one for the men's tennis program as, under Goodman's guidance, the team compiled the most match wins of any single year since resurfacing as a varsity program at the university in 2007.
Â
He also coached two student-athletes to All-GSAC recognition and mentored five GSAC and NAIA Scholar-Athletes, a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District Athlete and two NAIA Scholar Teams.
Â
"David's ability to teach, his spiritual depth and his humility made him an ideal coach for us during his time here," said Holmquist. "I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors."
Â
A national search for Goodman's replacement is currently underway. Application information can be found
