LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola has now won more matches in a row, than it won in any single season between 2011 and 2013. With its 7-2 victory over Pacific University (Ore.) on Friday Head Coach Dee Henry's squad took their third straight contest.
 
It was a display of dominance at the Biola Tennis Center, as the Eagles clinched the match at the conclusion of the second singles match to finish (No. 3) as they won each doubles match and the first two singles matches to finish to build a 5-0 advantage over the Boxers.
 
Doubles play was a fantastic display of precision and teamwork, as the Eagles swept doubles and took each match rather handily, with the closest margin of victory coming in an 8-4 match at the No. 1 pairing.
 
"The doubles teams dominated at the net," said Henry. "And our singles stayed focused, yet relaxed. They were patient and closed at the right time."
 
With the three victories all coming in a row, the Eagles season statistics are beginning to shape up as all but two singles players are currently coming off wins in their latest matches.
 
Three of those singles players earned wins today to reach three consecutive singles wins (Kathryn Ashford, Susan Carmichael and Madeline Heer). Ashford and Carmichael took straight-set victories, each getting two decisive set wins. Heer had to fight through her match at No. 2 singles, going into a super breaker with Francesca Battaglia before getting the eventual win.
 
Kelsey Post got the other singles win for the Eagles at the No. 4 slot. She took her match in a quick two sets (6-1, 6-3). She was one of two Eagles two win their match following the clinch.
 
"Out players are becoming more complete and consistent in their play," said Henry. "They are seeing the opportunity and choosing the moment to come forward to finish the shots. It was just great tennis."
 
Biola is riding this great tennis to its best season win total since its 9-13 season in 2010. The Eagles are now 6-12 overall with five matches left in its schedule.
 
They return to action next Tuesday for a home match with Lewis-Clark State at 3:30 p.m.
