LA MIRADA---Five members of the Biola women's tennis team earned All-PacWest recognition, including
Yeo Kyung Kim,
Dafne Andres,
Ivet Stancheva,
Alessia Radu and
Alexis Romano.
Yeo Kyung Kim led the Eagles with Second Team All-PacWest honors in singles following a dominant season. The Freshman posted a team-best 16-2 overall record while competing across the lower half of the lineup, including a 10-1 mark at the No. 4 position. She also went 2-0 at No. 5 and 4-1 at No. 6.
Kim secured key victories against top conference opponents, including players from PLNU, APU, FPU and Menlo.
Andres, Stancheva and Radu were named to the All-PacWest's Third Team in singles. Andres compiled a 12-7 overall record while contributing across multiple positions, including appearances at the top three spots in the lineup. She earned notable wins over opponents from PLNU, FPU and WNMU.
Stancheva also earned Third Team recognition after posting an 8-4 overall record while competing primarily at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. She highlighted her season with key wins against FPU and CMU.
Radu rounded out Biola's singles honorees with a 10-3 overall record, including a perfect 6-0 mark at the No. 3 position. Radu added impactful wins against opponents from HPU, FPU, Menlo, PLNU and WNMU.
In doubles, Romano and Kim earned Third Team All-PacWest honors after leading the team with a 7-1 overall record. The pair dominated at the No. 3 position with a perfect 7-0 mark and secured standout wins over FPU, Menlo and APU.
The Biola men's tennis team begins the first round of the PacWest Conference Championship tomorrow Wednesday, April 15th at 1 p.m. against the 2nd-seed #33 PLNU.
