MENIFEE, Calif. --- The final round of the season did not go quite as well as it could have on Tuesday as the Eagles shot their highest combined score of the tournament and placed 18^th of 18 teams at the CBU Men's Invitational.
 
Lucas Kinan had a strong round, resulting in he being the only Biola golfer to shoot a third round lower than his second round score. His 80 gave him a 236 (+20) for the tournament and left him in 80^th place as Biola's second-highest finisher.
 
William Langworthy rode the benefits of his first-round 73 to a 73^rd-place finish and the lowest combined score of any Eagle.
 
He was followed by Kinan, who was followed by John Hanzan, Kevin Vandekamp and Max Allen, who was only able to complete two of the three rounds.
 
It was a tough course, tough conditions and a tough field that led to a disappointing final day of the year on the scoreboard. Men's Golf Coach Jeff Anderson finds positives in the performance and has high hopes for the future of Biola's men's golf program.
 
"The boys gave it there all today, but it just did not fall into place," said Anderson. "I am very proud of their efforts for the entire season. It did not go as well as we had hoped, but it was a lot of fun. I believe with their continued hard work and some recruits coming in the 2014-15 season could look brighter."
 
Biola finished at the bottom of this 18-team field, while Western New Mexico finished at the very top. The Eagles' combined tally of 985 fell 113 strokes behind the leaders. Western New Mexico had the depth necessary to earn their three-stroke victory, with four golfers in the top-15.
 
The winner of the tournament also came from Western New Mexico, but his tally was not even counting towards the team total, as he was an extra player.
 
The Eagles have a few months to rest, regain their confidence and work on the various aspects of their game before getting back into the heat of competition in the fall.
