LA MIRADA, Calif. --- A rough week continued for men's tennis as it continued through one of the most grueling portions of its schedule on Friday. The Tigers of Sewanee University upended the Eagles at the Biola Tennis Center in a 7-2 affair, handing the Eagles their third straight loss.
 
Biola falls to 5-8 on the year after losing their fourth match out of the last six. All six of those matches have been played over the past eight days, making today the end of very long, difficult stretch.

The Tigers dominated doubles competition, taking 2-of-3 and making a late push to nearly take the No. 2 spot as well. Lucas Lee and Luke Mountain were able to hold on to grab the 8-6 win. The pair improves to 4-5 on the season, all at the No. 2 spot.
 
Singles was just as challenging for the Eagles, as they failed to pick up any points outside of the No. 5 matchup.
 
Brandon Chang earned a straight-set (7-5, 6-3) victory at No. 5 to improve his record to 6-7 and snap a two-match losing streak.
 
He was not only the only Eagle to get a point in singles play, but also the only Eagle to win a set in the competition. Tayven Townsend forced a tiebreak and Lucas Lee fought hard as always, but both fell short.
 
With the win Sewanee, the defending Southern Athletic Association champions, improved to 3-1 on its young season.
 
Biola's student-athletes finally have a few days to rest and catch their breath before returning to play late Tuesday afternoon against McPherson College. They return to Golden State Athletic Conference play the following Tuesday with a home match against Hope International.
