SAN MARCOS, Calif. --- All stayed steady in the final round of the CSU San Marcos Fall Classic, as Biola's men's team remained in ninth place despite a more challenging round and the women's team stayed in seventh even after dropping nine strokes off its day one total.
 
"The team played steady, with some players producing some season-best scores," said men's golf Head Coach Hank Woodrome. "Cameron Bauer continued his steady freshman year."
 
Bauer tied with William Langworthy for the Eagles' best round three, shooting a 78 (+6) to finish the tournament with a three-round score of 229 (77-74-78). He placed in a tie for 30^th overall with Langworthy and three other players. Langworthy's final round 78 was tacked on to his first two rounds of 78 and 73. The 229 is a new season-best 54-hole score for both student-athletes.
 
Lucas Kinan and Samuel Shih also shot rounds in the 70s on the last day to help Biola hold onto its ninth-place finish with two strokes of wiggle room. Kinan and Shih shot 79s to finish their 54-hole cards with a 233 and 240, respectively.
 
The Eagles combined for a team total of 927, which is its best three-round score this season, edging out its 930 in the Cal State Intercollegiate. Even with its strong effort, Biola still found itself in the middle of the strong field led by the University of Redlands, which ended with an 858.
 
"We just have to stay focused on finishing off our rounds. We put together streaks that build momentum during each round, we just need to keep that going to move to the next level," said Woodrome. "It was nice having Assistant Coach Max Allen helping out as well. He was a very positive influence and works well with the team."
 
The women's side showed great improvement on day two of the tournament, improving its day one score by nine strokes, shooting a 343. The Eagles still finished in seventh of seven teams with its two-round tally of 695.
 
"We have a lot to work on in the 11-week offseason," said women's golf Head Coach Jane Carr. "The golfers are committed to working hard and continue their preparation for the spring season."
 
This tournament seemed to be a rough one because of the quality competition Biola was up against, but the Eagles still posted their best 36-hole tally of the season at Twin Oaks Golf Course. In the one other 36-hole tournament it competed in it carded a 710.
 
Jasmine Rodriguez and Sarah Paravia highlighted the day for Biola, each dropping at least five strokes from their first round score. Paravia led the way with her 80, bettering her previous season-best by four strokes, and finished with a two-round tally of 165 to finish in 18^th place. She shot 18 pars in the tournament.
Rodriguez shaved six strokes from her first round card to finish the day with an 84. She finished the tournament in 32^nd place with a 174, breaking her previous season-best 36-hole score by six strokes. Her most exciting stretch of the day came on No. 15 when she hit her tee shot in the water, but still managed to get up-and-down to save par. She followed that effort with a birdie on the 16^th hole.
 
Whitney Jammerman continued her consistent play by backing up her round one 86 with a round two 86. She was the second-best tournament scorer for Biola, finishing in 30^th place. She was followed by Lauren Van Horn, who had a strong second round to finish the tournament with a 184, a new season-best by 13 strokes.
 
Both teams concluded their fall seasons with this tournament and resume their spring slates in February.
