LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Sara Dougan is currently a three-sport standout at Lynden Christian High School in Lynden, Washington, but beginning in 2015-16 the 6-foot-4-inch post player will suit up for Head Coach Dr. Bethany Miller at Biola.
 
Dougan currently plays varsity basketball, soccer and track for the Lyncs, and she also spent time playing AAU ball for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Revolution, which was based two hours outside of her hometown.
 
She is a natural leader, earning team captain status for the women's soccer and basketball teams at LCHS.
 
"Sara adds both speed and length to our program," said Miller. "We are excited to add her to a strong group of student-athletes and are looking forward to her future achievements in the program."
 
Dougan comes from a very successful basketball program at Lynden Christian. She led the Lyncs to a 2014 1A Washington State Championship as a junior, earning the WIAA Sportsmanship Award on the way. Her basketball team was 25-2 on the year, and she excelled in soccer as well, earning all-county, all-state and all-conference honors.
 
During her sophomore season she led the basketball team to a fourth-place finish in state competition and earned another sportsmanship award. She posted all these athletic accomplishments while maintaining a 3.7 cumulative grade point average.
 
"I am excited for the high-quality education Biola offers as I pursue a possible major in political science or journalism. My visit to Biola in October was an amazing experience," said Dougan. "After my experiences at Lynden Christian High School and playing basketball for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Biola is a perfect fit for me."
 
Dougan will lace up and suit up for Biola beginning next fall.
