HEMET, Calif. --- The Eagles stayed steady after the third and final round of the Cal State Intercollegiate, posting a 324 on the second day of the tournament to finish 10
th at the tournament hosted by La Verne.
The par-72, 6,801-yard course played tough throughout the tournament, as only the top four finishers were able to post combined scores under par. Kevin Kline from CSU San Marcos won the tournament outright by shooting a 213 (-3). He led his team to the team victory as all five of their counting scores ended inside the top 20.
Max Allen kept his place as Biola's leading scorer by shooting an 81 to end the three-round tournament with a combined score of 239 (78-80-81).
BU played consistent golf throughout the tournament as three of their five scorers posted total scores within five strokes of one another, and all five were within 20 strokes. This is an impressive split for a five man grouping playing a 54-hole tournament.
William Langworthy and
Lucas Kinan finished second and third for the Eagles, posting a 241 and 244, respectively. Kevin Vandekamp (252) and
Micah Mathis (259) rounded out BU's finishers.
The men's squad competes again next Sunday and Monday in Prescott, Ariz. at the Co-Ed Invitational hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical. The Eagles finished fifth of seven teams in this tournament a year ago.
