LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The women's basketball team finished the season just one game under .500, helped in large part by an outstanding stretch from mid-November to early-January where the team won seven of 10 games and added an exhibition win as well.
 
Entering play on Nov. 19, the Eagles were 2-3 in official competition and 2-5 overall. They had just completed a 1-2 showing at the Westminster College tournament and were not yet firing on all cylinders.
 
Bethesda University of California came to Chase Gymnasium on Nov. 19, entering play with an 0-3 record in their first season as an official program. This game was just the kind of kickstart the Eagles needed, as they rode the 72-42 victory to begin their stretch of seven of 10.
 
The Eagles had three double-digit scorers in this game, and Adijat Adams, named an All-American at the end of the year, dropped 18 on the Lady Flames. Points in the paint were huge, as the Eagles outscored Bethesda 40-18 inside.
 
Biola followed up this game with a win at Point Loma, a new National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II applicant. Adams again led the Eagles, this time picking up 14 points and 17 rebounds.
 
The streak ran through Jan. 5 and Biola managed to pick up wins against Cal Maritime, Chapman, Victoria, CSU San Marcos and William Jessup. The 30-point win over Bethesda was the largest margin of victory throughout the stretch, but the victory over William Jessup was possibly the most important win of the streak because William Jessup will enter into the Golden State Athletic Conference next season. The win proves that Biola can handle the GSAC newcomers.
 
The winning was stopped just as the Eagles entered into conference play, and they finished the year going 4-10 in conference and finishing in sixth place.
