PRESCOTT, Ariz. --- A trio of Biola golfers finished in a tie for 12th place overall to lead the Eagles to a fifth-place finish at the Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Antelope Hills North Golf Course in Prescott.
Biola played well in the two-round tournament, finishing with a 15-over-par 591--just one stroke behind fourth-place Northwood University (Mich.) and 12 shots behind the winner, Embry-Riddle.
Conner Penfold shot the low round on the second day, carding a one-under-par 71 to finish at three-over 147.
William Langworthy shot an even par 72 on the final day to also finish at 147 while
Joshua Mathis carded a 147 with a 73-74.
Nick Grady placed 22nd overall with a six-over-par 150 while Kevin Vandekamp rounded out the squad with a 34th place finish at 155.
Biola heads to postseason competition next, traveling to Monroe, Oregon, for the NAIA Qualifier April 15-16 at the Diamond Woods Golf Club.
