SAN MARCOS, Calif. --- It was an aggravating first round followed by a much smoother second round that put Biola's mens squad in a tie for eighth after day one of the CSU San Marcos Fall Classic.
 
The Eagles scorers all had difficulty with the narrow 6,500-plus yard Twin Oaks Golf Course in the first 18 holes, combining for a 327 which put them in dead last, 43 strokes off the lead.
 
The small fairways and tough rough made it difficult for the players to get themselves out of trouble whenever they found themselves in it. There were two bright spots from the first round as both Max Allen and William Langworthy were able to post 79s, just 10 shots behind the individual leader.

Every Eagle dropped strokes from their first round score in Biola's vastly improved second round. BU was able to drop a total of fourteen strokes between the finish of the 18^th and the finish of the 36^th hole.
 
This difference helped Biola climb out of last place and into their tie for eighth out of 10 teams. Micah Mathis led the way in the rejuvenated second round, dropping 12 strokes to improve his 91 to a 79, he finished the day tied for 74^th overall.
 
Allen led the Eagles with a 77 in round two and sits in a tie for 39^th with one round to play. He was followed closely by Langworthy's 78 on the back 18 to put him in a deadlock for 42^nd.
 
Lucas Kinan and Kevin Vandekamp shot two-round scores of 163 and 166 to find themselves in 49^th and 50^th place, respectively.
 
Redlands carries a commanding lead into the clubhouse after shooting a combined 7-under with four of their five golfers in the individual top 10. The Bulldogs score puts them 23 strokes ahead of The Master's College who sits in second place.
