LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola received its opening-round pairing for the 32nd Annual NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship and faces No. 7 Lee University (Tenn.) to kick off the tournament on Thursday, March 15, at 6:15 p.m. Eastern Time at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Kentucky.

The Eagles (21-10) earned the 11th of 15 at-large berths and finished as the top team in the receiving votes category, just outside of the NAIA Top 25 in the final poll. Biola is seeded No. 7 in its quarter of the bracket while Lee is the No. 2 seed.

Biola closed out the season by winning nine of its final 11 games including knocking off Azusa Pacific at home and defeating San Diego Christian College twice in nine days to wrap up the tournament berth. 

This is Biola's program-best fourth-straight trip to the NAIA Tournament and its seventh overall. The Eagles are just 1-6 all-time at the tournament with the lone victory coming in the 2009 tournament. Last year, Biola was upset by William Woods University in the opening round. 

Biola's opponent is Lee University, the No. 7 team in the final regular season poll. The Flames enter the tournament with a 30-3 overall record, earning an automatic berth as the Southern States Athletic Conference East Division Champion. Lee lost to Belhaven University (Miss.) in the championship game of the SSAC Tournament and has suffered two of its three losses on the season in its last four games.

Lee is making its ninth tournament apperance and its eighth-straight trip. The Flames hold an all-time record of 6-8 in tournament games, finishing third in 2010. 

These two teams met at the NAIA Tournament in 2009--the only other all-time meeting between the two. The teams played in the second round of the 2009 tournament after Biola won its opening round game. In that games, Lee hit 13 three-pointers--one off the NAIA Tournament record--to advance with a 96-75 victory.

After a 22-year run in Jackson, Tennessee, the tournament moves to Frankfort, Kentucky this year. The seven-day tournament begins on Wednesday, March 14 and runs through Tuesday, March. 20.
