LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Chelsea Hill scored 10 points and added six rebounds while Elizabeth Munger added eight points to lead Biola to a 53-48 win over the Australia Travellers in an exhibition contest on Thursday night at Chase Gymnasium.

Hill led the Ealges in scoring and was one of 15 players to see the court in the exhibition game with 10 scoring in the contest. The Australia Travellers are a club team consisting of high-school aged players on a tour of the United States. 

The Travellers got off to a fast start in the contest with a bucket in the first minute, but failed to score a field goal over the next 11 minutes. The Eagles took advantage and raced out to a 12-4 lead with 8:39 to go in the half. After the Australians scored, Biola came back with back-to-back buckets by Munger to take a 16-6 lead with just under seven minutes remaining in the period. 

The two teams exchanged baskets throughout with the Eagles taking their largest lead of the game at 26-14 on a fastbreak bucket by Angel Dorn with one minute left and held that advantage at the half.

The Travellers came out strong in the second half and turned a 29-18 Biola lead into a four-point game at 30-26 with an 8-1 run. Biola responded with a quick five-point run capped by a four-point play by Aubree Mittel which made it 39-30 Biola with 11:34 to go.

The Eagles stretched the lead back to double-figures with a jumper by Hill which made it 43-32 with 9:38 to play. But the Aussies rallied again and used a 10-0 run over the next two minutes to make it a one-point game at 43-42. The score would remain that way for the next three minutes until Haley Nickel scored a second-chance bucket followed by a jumper by Jamie Elias to make it a more comfortable five-point lead with 4:04 left.

Biola would stretch its final lead to as many as eight only to see the Aussies cut the deficit back to three on a quick five-point run capped by a free throw from Brooke Roditis with 17 seconds left. She made the first one but missed the second and the Travellers secured the rebound but missed a putback attempt and Hill came down with the rebound. She was fouled with five seconds to play and hit both free throws to ice the game.

Georgia Ohrdorf led all scorers with 17 points and added seven rebounds, two assists and a steal for the Australians. Bree Whatman scored 12 points and had eight boards.

Biola held a 47-40 edge in rebounding but pulled down 19 offensive rebounds, leading to 14 second-chance points. Nickel had a team-high 11 rebounds including seven on the offensive glass to go along with six points, one assist and one steal.

The Eagles close out play before Christmas with a game on Monday, hosting Chapman University at 5:30 p.m.
