SAN DIEGO --- Biola's offense continued to struggle on Saturday as the Eagles shot just over 25 percent in a 59-46 exhibition loss at former GSAC foe Point Loma Nazarene University on Saturday night.

The Eagles had a tough time in a hard place to shoot, hitting just 18 of 70 shots on the night. Leading the way was Jamie Elias and Haley Nickel, who each scored eight points. Nickel also added six rebounds and a block on the night.

Nyla Bailey scored 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting, finishing with 23 points to lead all scorers.

The teams started off evenly through the first 10 minutes of the game. But Point Loma broke a 9-9 tie with a 13-2 run to take a 22-11 lead with five minutes to go in the half. Biola chipped away a bit and trailed by eight at 26-18 at the half.

In the second half, the teams exchanged buckets to open the period until a quick 8-0 run by the Sea Lions turned it into a 15-point game at 41-26 with 14:37 to play. Biola cut the lead back to eight with a quick seven-point run midway through the period but PLNU responded with a 12-2 run to make it an 18-point game. Biola got no closer than 13 the rest of the way.

The Eagles close out play before the Thanksgiving break on Monday, hosting Bethesda University in a non-conference game at 7:30 p.m. at Chase Gymnasium. Biola hosts Point Loma Nazarene again in a counting game on Wednesday, November 28 at 7:30 p.m.
