LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola's women's basketball team makes its program-best third-straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament and opens the tournament against William Woods University of Missouri on Wednesday night at 9:45 p.m. (CT).

The tournament runs March 16-22 at the Oman Arena in Jackson, Tennessee.

The Eagles, who were ranked No. 9 in the final NAIA National Poll released earlier in the day, holds its best record in 30 years at 25-6. Despite losing in the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament, Biola was still able to secure one of four No. 3 seeds handed out in the tournament. 

The opening-round game should be a good one as Biola faces the Owls of William Woods College. The Owls were ranked No. 21 in the final regular season poll after finishing second in the American Midwest Conference to No. 11 Columbia College in the tournament championship on Monday. William Woods enters the tournament with a record of 29-4.

In their portion of the bracket, Biola is a No. 3 seed and William Woods is a No. 6 seed. The two teams will meet in the final game of the first day of the tournament, squaring off at 9:45 p.m. CT. The winner advances to the second round to play the winner of the game between No. 2 Westminster (Utah) and No. 7 Rogers State (Okla.) on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Biola is making its third-straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament, the most consecutive appearances in program history. The Eagles reached the second round two years ago, but were knocked out in the first round last year. In five previous appearances by Biola in the tournament, the Eagles are 1-5.

The 32-team field is comprised of 18 automatic qualifiers from NAIA affiliated conferences and association of independents, plus 14 at-large selections, which are determined using the final Top 25 rating released on Wednesday.

Thirty-one games will be played out in Jackson. The first 30 games will be video-streamed by NeuLion, the parent company of JumpTV.
