SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- Playing in its final contest of the fall season, Biola put together a solid final set of rounds highlighted by a second-place finish by
Joshua Mathis and a sixth-place finish by
Kyle Schrader at the Robinson Ranch Golf Course in Santa Clarita.
Mathis had a great tournament, placing second overall with a one-over-par 217. He carded rounds of 70, 68 and 79 with the 68 in the second-round being the best among the 44 golfers in the tournament field. Schrader shot well as well, with a three-over-par 219, with rounds of 70, 76 and 70.
Overall, the Eagles placed sixth out of the seven teams at the tournament, recording a team score of 905 (296-298-311), just five shots back of fifth-place Simpson University. Cal State San Marcos and Point Loma Nazarene University tied for the top spot with the Sea Lions taking the match in a tiebreaker.
Biola returns to the links in Febrary for the spring portion of its schedule.
