ORANGE, Calif. --- After getting off to a bit of a sloppy start, Biola fought back with a strong second-half en route to defeating Chapman University 74-47 in a non-conference game on Thursday night at the Hutton Sports Center in Orange.
The Eagles snap a two-game losing streak, improving to 14-9 on the season while dropping the Panthers to 11-11 overall.

Richae Kater made her first start of the year and scored 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting.
Biola got off to a bit of a slow start and despite holding a 12-point lead at one point in the first half. The Eagles committed 15 turnovers in the opening half, including six in the final seven minutes as Chapman University cut the lead to four with 4:14 to go in the period. After a
Chelsea De Luca, the Eagles would head to the half with a seven-point advantage.
However, things changed quickly in the second half. Biola quickly stretched the lead back to double-figures in the opening minute, the used a long 22-3 run to stretch the lead up to as many as 31 before emptying the bench.
The Eagles shot 44.7 percent from the field in the second half while holding Chapman to just six field goals and 21.4 percent shooting. Overall the Panthers hit 27.6 percent of their shots while Biola shot 48.3 percent from the field.
Junior forward
Jennifer French got a bit of a night off due to a slight injury, though she did come into the game for nine minutes in the second. Just a few seconds after entering the game, French hit a three-pointer and finished 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.
De Luca finished with eight points and
Christina Barclay added seven points for the Eagles.
Kelli Yamamoto scored 12 points and three assists to lead Chapman and was the only player in double figures for the Panthers.
Biola returns to GSAC play on Saturday (Feb. 13), traveling to El Cajon to face San Diego Christian College at 5:30 p.m. at the Ryan Athletic Center.
