Jessilyn Conicelli

LEWISTON, Idaho --- No. 13 Biola answered back from its first loss of the season with a dominating 78-48 victory over Oregon Tech in the final game of the Lewis-Clark State Warrior Classic on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles improve to 4-1 on the season while dropping the Owls to 3-4.

Senior Jessilyn Concicelli had another monster game, recording 14 points and adding 16 rebounds for her fourth double-double in the first five games of the season. Senior Jennifer French added 12 points while sophomore Jamie Elias scored 13 points off the bench.

The game got off to a close start as the teams battled back and forth through the first 14 minutes of the contest. However the final six belonged to the Eagles. Trailing 18-16, senior Megan Jackson hit a jumper to tie the score and start a half-ending 15-4 run to put the Eagles up 31-22 at the half.

In the second half, Biola did not let off the gas pedal, outscoring Oregon Tech 47-26 and cruising to the easy victory.

After struggling from the field the previous night, the Eagles hit 45 percent from the field on Saturday. Biola also held a commanding 51-39 advantage in rebounding and outscored the Owls 42-14 in the paint.

Biola returns home for a non-conference contest on Tuesday, hosting La sierra University at Chase Gymnasium beginning at 5:30 p.m.
