Eagles Finish Fifth at Holy Names Invitational

ALAMEDA, Calif. --- Sophomore Kenny Gibo fired a six-over-par 219 to lead Biola to a fifth-place finish among eight teams at the 2010 Holy Names University Fall Invitational at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex in Alameda.

Biola had a solid performance, shooting a three-round team total of 884, 32-strokes over par and just 10 strokes out fourth place. The Eagles' best round was the second where they fired a 291, the best single round for Biola this season.

Gibo led the Eagles, firing a 74, 75 and a 70 to finish at six-over-par, which tied him for 14th overall. Sophomore Joshua Mathis was close behind with a nine-over-par 222 (77-69-76) while senior John Graham carded a 224 (79-72-73) and sophomore Conner Penfold had a 225 (75-75-75). Rounded out the squad was freshman Joseph Conway at 233. Conway saved the team with a solid 73 in the first round.

The Master's College took top team honors with a three-over par 855 including an impresive 277 in the final round.

Biola closes out the fall portion of the schedule in November, taking part in The Master's College Fall Invitational on November 1-2 at the Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita.
