Offense Halted in Game Three

McAninch records two hits, Villegas plates lone run against CUI

IRVINE, Calif. --- The Biola baseball team faced the CUI Golden Eagles for the third game of a four game stretch. The Eagles were held to only one run on four hits in a 7-inning game due to run rule, falling to CUI, 11-1.

Offensively, Kevin Villegas drove in the lone Eagle run, in the seventh inning, via an RBI single scoring Nick Madole. Josh McAninch went 2-for-3 with a single and a double. Jonny Tewinkle also recorded a double.

Gabe Magallan got the start for Biola. He threw five innings, giving up five runs on 10 hits and walked four. Taj Brar faced the final eleven hitters. Brar allowed six runs on four hits and struck out three.

The Eagles look to split the series against the Golden Eagles in game four starting at 4:30 p.m.
