LA MIRADA --- James Whitman continued his award-winning season by earning D2 Baseball Second Team All-America recognition, his second All-America honor of the season.

The Eagles' slugger previously earned All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings (ABCA). The ABCA also named Whitman its West Region Position Player of the Year and selected him to the All-West Region First Team. Additionally, Whitman earned All-Region honors from both the D2CCA and NCBWA. He was also recognized as the PacWest Player of the Year and a First Team All-PacWest selection.

Whitman led the PacWest in six offensive categories and ranked among the nation's top hitters throughout the season. He batted .439 across 52 games while leading the conference with a 1.531 OPS, .930 slugging percentage and .601 on-base percentage.

The senior totaled 69 hits, 58 RBIs and 64 runs scored while launching 19 home runs. He added 14 doubles, three triples, 41 walks and 24 hit-by-pitches while reaching base at an exceptional rate throughout the season. Whitman also stole nine bases in nine attempts.

His historic season extended beyond the single-season record book. Whitman finished his Biola career with 49 home runs, setting the program's NCAA Division II-era career record while cementing his place among the most accomplished players in Biola baseball history.
