Smart Shortstop Joins Baseball Roster

Connor Kostecka graduated high school with a 4.26 GPA and tons of baseball honors.

TEMECULA, Calif. --- Biola Baseball adds a proven winner with the addition of shortstop Connor Kostecka.

Kostecka comes to the Eagles following four varsity seasons at Linfield Christian High School and is fresh off leading the Lions to a league championship during his senior season.

He also earned two all-league first team honors during his high school career and was a three-time CIF Scholar-Athlete.

"Connor is a left handed hitting shortstop that will push an already talented group of infielders for playing time right away," said Head Coach Jay Sullenger. "He carries himself with confidence and we are very hopeful he will help us take steps forward as an infield and pressure offense."

Kostecka captained the Lions during his junior and senior seasons and worked his way to 95 career hits for Linfield Christian. His team went 21-5 this past season while he hit .416 and bashed six homeruns.

Not only is he a great ballplayer, but he's also an equally gifted student. He graduated with a 4.26 cumulative grade point average and earned AP Student of the Year honors in Biology and US History.

"I chose Biola because it is a great fit for me both on the baseball field and in my walk with God," said Kostecka. "I am excited for all the memories to come both on and off the field during my time here."

Kostecka plans to study business at Biola and would like to start his own business after graduation.
