Piston Brings A Big Bat To Biola

Tyler Piston should be able to fill in at the corner infield and drive in some runs as a freshman.

GLENDORA, Calif. --- With the departure of Jonas Wellan Biola Baseball had a hole to fill on the depth chart at first base. Tyler Piston is an incoming freshman who should be able to fill that role just fine.

"Tyler is a guy that just knows how to hit. We are excited for what he can bring to our offense in 2018. We lost meat in the middle of the order and are hopeful that Tyler will develop quickly into a young man that can fill one of those gaps," said Head Coach Jay Sullenger.

Piston joins the Eagles after playing his varsity high school ball at Capistrano Valley Christian. He earned two all-league honors while playing for those Eagles and would be quite happy to get a few more honors as he continues his playing career with our Eagles.

"Coach Smith did a fine job finding a player we feel can step onto the college baseball field from high school and drive in runs…not to mention he came with great references as man of character," said Sullenger.

Piston enters Biola this fall and plans to study general engineering with hopes of a career as an engineer.
