GREEN MOUNTAIN, Colo. --- Biola Women's Soccer has a pair of All-American center backs returning in 2017 and it strengthened its back line and defense even more with the addition of Danielle Lord.
 
Lord comes to the Eagles from Colorado, where she played her high school soccer at Green Mountain High School and earned four varsity letters in both soccer and basketball.
 
The center back/center midfielder was named the school's Female Athlete of the Year following her senior season. She also earned all-conference honors in both of her varsity sports.

"Danielle brings ECNL experience to our squad, which will enable her to transition well to the college level of play," said Head Coach Erin Brunelle. "Her multiple-sport background and athleticism allows her to read the play in front of her well and she possesses good physicality, which will be vital at the next level. Danielle is calm on the ball, wins challenges out of the air, and distributes well out of the back. She has versatility to play in the midfield or as a center back, so we look forward to where she'll be most effective. We also look forward to walking alongside Danielle as she grows in her knowledge and love for the LORD."
 
She helped the Rams win an average of 11 matches throughout her four years on varsity, including a season-best 15 matches during her sophomore campaign.
 
Off the field Lord was just as talented as she made it onto the Gold Distinguished Honor Roll, was a Renaissance Scholar and Capstone Scholar and also earned an Academic Letter.
 
"I chose Biola because I have the opportunity to go into a major I have interest in as well as be able to explore my relationship with Christ," said Lord. "When I visited I felt such a welcoming feeling, the campus is beautiful and I felt comfortable with the learning/living environment. Also, being able to become part of the soccer was another big reason why I fell in love with the school."
 
Lord plans to major in biology and then continue into a career where she can "impact other people's lives in whatever it is I choose to do."
 
She will begin classes at Biola this fall and can be found on Al Barbour Field at the Eagles' home opener against CSU San Marcos on Saturday, Sept. 9.
