Eagles Selected Seventh In Preseason Poll

Biola returns 18 and welcomes 12 newcomers

August 21, 2026

LA MIRADA — With the 2026 season just six days away, the PacWest Conference announced its preseason poll, with the Eagles selected seventh.

Biola returns 18 players from its 2025 squad, including Briley Phelps, who was named a PacWest Preseason Player to Watch after earning Second Team All-PacWest honors last season.

Brett Croft enters his fourth season leading the Eagles, looking to build on a returning group that gained valuable experience throughout the 2025 campaign.

2026 Schedule
Biola opens the 2026 season at home on August 27th, hosting Cal State Los Angeles in a non-conference matchup.

The Eagles will play 16 games this season, with an even split between home and road contests. Biola will host five PacWest games while playing nine conference matches overall. The Eagles finished 3-5-9 overall and 0-4-6 in conference play in 2025.

Meet the Newcomers
The incoming class features 11 freshmen and one spring transfer. Goalkeeper Samantha "Sami" Robinson joins the Eagles after two seasons at Azusa Pacific, adding experience and competition to the goalkeeper group. She is joined by freshmen Ellie Ow, Brooklyn Frattali, Savannah Patton, Danica Peters, Gissel Fang, Ella Bailey, Emalee Hernandez, Belen Cognetta, Carmen Flores, Kaitlyn Wade and Devan Carman.

"We are extremely excited for the season ahead with a larger returning class and a strong incoming class," stated Head Coach Brett Croft. "Last season, five freshmen logged significant minutes for us. We look forward to watching their continued growth in year two after gaining valuable PacWest experience."
