LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Baseball is in the middle of another special season, but its student-athletes are not letting their on-field commitments distract from their studies. Anj Bourgeois, Rawley Hughes and Micah Beyer were each recognized on Thursday with CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.
 
CoSIDA annually recognizes student-athletes from all levels of intercollegiate athletics for their academic achievements. In order to earn Academic All-District student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior and maintain a cumulative grade point average over 3.30 while contributing to their team's success.
 
Unlike scholar-athlete honors, CoSIDA honors are not automatically bestowed on any student-athlete who meets the minimum criteria. This award only goes to 11 student-athletes in each "division" or region. Hughes was the only catcher in the "college division" district four to earn the recognition. Beyer was one of two pitchers and Bourgeois was on of four infielders.
 
Biola's three men and Menlo's Dalton Maxwell gave the Golden State Athletic Conference four honorees, which was more than any other conference in the district, which includes NAIA schools, NCCAA schools and two-year institutions.
 
All Academic All-District winners are eligible to be selected for Academic All-American status. The list of Academic All-American winners will be released May 30. Biola Baseball's last Academic All-American honoree was Boone Farrington back in 2014. The program has four Academic All-American honors all-time.
