LONG BEACH, Calif. --- As the 2017-18 Biola Track & Field recruiting class continues to grow one focus has become clear — adding depth to the sprints and jumps program.
 
Hannah Hubbard is the latest talented young student-athlete to commit to the Eagles' budding program. She comes to the Eagles after two very accomplished varsity seasons at Lakewood High School.
 
"I'm very excited to have Hannah in our program next year. I really enjoyed getting to know her and her father during one of her visits. Hannah is very strong in her faith and really desired to be at a school like Biola," said Head Coach Sean Henning. "She is a very mature and responsible person who has shown great commitment to developing herself as an athlete. Coming from a small track and field program, she really is very self-motivated and has set big goals for herself. She has had a great senior year and I know there is more development we are going to see once she gets to Biola."
 
During her high school career Hubbard earned "Jumper of the Year" both seasons for the Lancers and was named their 2016-17 "Athlete of the Year." Both years she qualified for CIF competition and she was a Master's meet qualifier in her senior season.
 
She plans to compete in the long jump, triple jump and 100m dash. Her personal-best in the triple jump is 38' 1 3/4", which qualified her for the state championship meet later this weekend. She's hit 17'8" in the long jump.

Off the track she was just as stellar, earning Principal's Honor Roll distinction in 2016-17 and making the honor roll in 2015-16 as well. She was given the Scholar Athlete award during both of her varsity seasons.
 
Hubbard plans to study sociology at Biola and plans on a career as a police officer when she leaves here.
