MEDFORD, Ore. --- One the heels of Ambernicole Hollinger's record-breaking season and NAIA national championship appearance Head Coach Seann Henning has added even more standout talent to his throws program in the form of Emily Shaw.
 
Shaw was a four-year varsity standout at North Medford High School who broke the school's shot put record, which has stood for 13 years.
 
She earned the Most Valuable Athlete award and also swam for two seasons on the varsity swim team.
 
"Emily is such a great fit for Biola. This has been her #1 school for a while now, and I'm so glad she chose to be an Eagle next year," said Henning. "Coach Hogan is really excited to start working with her. She has had tremendous success her senior year in the throws and will make an immediate impact at the PacWest level next year."
 
Shaw is a tremendous student. She's part of the Torch Honors Society and will be graduating with an honors diploma. She plans to study sociology at Biola and hopes for a career as a social worker in the foster care system.
 
"Biola has always been on my heart since a friend from a mission trip told me about it, and ever since I first hand experienced Biola's campus and atmosphere as well as faculty I was in love," said Shaw. "The students I met were so kind, and when I got lost looking for classes, I wasn't scared or worried it felt okay to be lost there because it felt like home. I love the values and how everything is focused and centered on Christ as it should be!"
