GULF SHORES, Ala. --- Competition continued at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium on Friday and the Biola Track & Field team picked up its first All-American honors of the meet.
 
The women's 4x800m relay placed fifth in the event finals (9:12.67) to earn Hannah Hunsaker, Kathryn Doherty, Lyndee Dawson and Alisa Murray All-American honors. Biola has earned All-American honors in that event each year since 2013.
 
Murray had to run two 800-meter events on Friday. She competed as the anchor in the relay and she also ran in the prelims of the actual 800m race. She finished in 2:15.04 to place fourth in her heat and 13^th overall.
 
Distance runners had a busy day today as the prelims in the 5,000m happened at the end of the night. Emily Ransom competed for the women and Ryan Thompson for the men. The women's prelim was a slower race than most of the student-athlete's seed times. Ransom finished her sophomore track season with a 19:24.61 to place 18^th.
 
Thompson managed to qualify for Saturday's finals by finishing fifth in his heat and 15^th overall with a 15:27.61. His time was about 12 seconds back from the eight-best runner, which is the All-American cutoff.
 
Ashley Otah ran her first NAIA National Championship event early in the day when she competed in the 100m hurdles. She kept very close to her seed time, finishing 23^rd overall with a :14.78.

12:00 p.m. – Women's 3,000m steeplechase finals (Dawson, Hunsaker, Stephanie Croy)
