COMPLETE RESULTS

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- Biola Track & Field finished off its 2017 regular season with a splash on Saturday as it qualified another relay team for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field national championships.

 The Eagles traveled a small group up to Santa Barbara to compete at the Westmont all on the line qualifier meet. It was the third meet this season that Biola has ran up at Westmont.

 The women's 4x800m relay took full advantage of feeling comfortable and familiar at the track and posted an 'A' qualifying time of 9:22.06. Hannah Hunsaker, Stephanie Chaires, Kathryn Doherty and Alisa Murray combined for the strong finish.

 Another highlight of the weekend was Nathaniel Belden's strong showing in the decathlon. The freshman placed third at the meet with a total score of 5,749.  He finishes the year ranked No. 23 in the nation, which puts him just outside of contention to travel and compete at nationals.

"Nathaniel competed in his second decathlon in two weeks, which is a pretty tough turnaround," said Head Coach Sean Henning. "He had a really good first day, establishing a personal best in the shot put and 400. The second day was a bit tough, as his first event, the 110 high hurdles, was rough."

Hunsaker earned herself another NAIA Nationals qualifying standard in the 3,000m steeplechase. She finished 11:24.52 in an event she does not typically run to hit the 'B' standard.

Biola's next time on the track will be at the end of this month as it caps off the 2016-17 athletic season, and Biola's time in the NAIA, at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
