MISSION VIEJO, Calif. --- It's been a tremendous year for the newcomers on Biola Women's Golf in 2016-17. 2017-18 figures to be much of the same as Head Coach Jane Carr has another extremely talented incoming class.
 
Rachel Reynolds, a Mission Viejo native who played golf at Trabuco Hills High School, committed to be a part of that 2017-18 class.
 
She will join the Eagles in the fall once she graduates and finishes her career with the Mustangs. She's a three-time all-league first team player and was the team MVP during her sophomore season at THHS.
 
"Biola is a special place and it is always important for me to know that the players I recruit really want to be here," said Carr. "After Rachel visited the campus it was very evident how much she loved Biola. Rachel is a steady player with a lot of potential. She is a tournament player and that is what drew me to her  Regardless of how she performs in a tournament she learns something from it and uses it to make her better."
 
It's no wonder that Reynolds is as committed to golf as she is. She grew up in Arizona before relocating to Southern California before her freshman year of high school, meaning she's only ever lived in two of the best areas for golf in all of the United States.
 
"I really love the community feel Biola has, and know it will be a great place to grow closer to God and others," said Reynolds.
 
In addition to the individual all-league honors Reynolds made sure that she contributed to a winning team effort. She led her team to CIF competition all four years and competed as an individual three of her four seasons.
 
She also competed in a junior tournament at Twin Oaks Golf Club, one of Biola's most frequent tournament courses, in August 2016 and won!
 
Reynolds plans to major in business marketing and management and hopes to play professional golf and work as a golf coach. She's also very committed to her church and to kids, serving with fourth graders every weekend.
 
Look out for Reynolds to begin turning in scorecards in a Biola uniform in fall of 2017.
