LA MIRADA, Calif. --- With a 7-2 victory over Pacific Lutheran on Monday Biola Women's Tennis won back-to-back matches for the first time this season. The Eagles swept doubles and then took four of the six doubles matches to earn the victory.
 
"The girls blew me away with how well they played today," said Head Coach David Goodman. "Moving forward towards the latter part of the season it gives the team confidence that we can play at a higher level then we did at the start of the season."
 
Biola got started with a dominating performance in doubles. The Eagles earned an 8-5 win in the toughest match of the set, the No. 1 pairings. That was preceded by a pair of 8-3 wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Lauren Lee and Brooke Sanford were responsible for the victory at the No. 2 pairing. They've won six matches in a row when playing together.
 
"We started very well in the doubles and played solid in all three matches," said Goodman. "We played excellent as a team today."
 
Singles was a battle up and down the lineup as more than one match needed to go past the two allotted sets to be decided.
 
Madeline Heer (No. 1), Lauren Lee (No. 3) and Kelsey Post (No. 5) earned straight-set wins for the Eagles. The three other singles matches went into a tiebreaker, with Pacific Lutheran earning its two match wins in the tiebreaker and Tinisee Kandakai earning Biola's seventh win in her match at No. 4. It was Kandakai's team-best seventh singles win of the season. It was the first time she's needed more than two sets.
 
The season is now winding down for the 5-11 Eagles. They next play up in Santa Barbara for a 1:00 p.m. match at Westmont this Saturday.
