CORONA, Calif. --- After Monday's opening round we noted that Head Coach Jane Carr's Biola Women's Golf team had the potential to move up a few spots before the end of competition and that is exactly what they did.
 
The Eagles shot a second round 324, which was a five-stroke improvement from round one, in order to move up into 10^th place on the leaderboard as they finished the California Baptist Invitational.
 
Biola's 10^th place finish was great in a very deep and primarily NCAA Division II field.
 
For the second day in a row Biola's best round came from Jenny Zhang, who carded a 76 after finishing the first round with a team-best 79. Zhang's final tally of +11 would put her into a tie for 17^th place overall as the top Eagles' finisher.
 
Her biggest strength in this tournament was her ability to get up and down with pars. She finished with 22 pars in the 36 holes, which put her inside of the top-10 in the tournament field. She finished her back nine with a pair of birdies and five pars, which was a great recovery after shooting +7 through the front nine.
 
Tori Roeske, who finished second on the team after day one, had the second best round on closing day also. She carded a 78 in round two, which is almost two full strokes below her season average. She finished at +15 in a tie for 36^th.
 
Following Zhang and Roeske was Bella Larson (84), Mary Karnazes (86) and Amanda Hobbs (88). Four of Biola's competing five either tied or bettered their score from the opening round as they posted a score on day two that helped the Eagles leapfrog two schools.
 
Biola Women's Golf will take a break for a few weeks before it heads to Prescott, Ariz. to play in its second-to-last regular season tournament at Embry-Riddle from March 13-14.
