LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It was quite a remarkable opening month for Lyndee Dawson. The senior compiled two top-5 individual finishes, claimed a national runner of the week honor, and now has been selected as the Golden State Athletic Conference Runner of the Month.
 
Dawson led Biola to a pair of top-3 team finishes at the Biola Invitational and UC Riverside Invitational as she led the team with the top finish in both races.
 
She was the No. 1 NAIA finisher in both fields and finished both 5k courses in under 17:41. She set her season-best in the first event of the season when she withstood scorching conditions to finish in 17:06 at the Biola Invite.
 
This is Dawson's first career GSAC Runner of the Month honor.
 
She and the team are back in action this weekend for their third meet of the season. They travel to Salem, Oregon for the Charles Bowles Invitational hosted by Willamette University. The event takes place on Saturday Oct. 1.
