Eagles Climb to 79th in Learfield Directors' Cup Final Standings

June 22, 2026

LA MIRADA---Biola Athletics secured the second-highest Learfield Division II Directors' Cup finish in program history, placing 79th in the final 2025-26 national standings. The Eagles' highest finish came just one year earlier, when they placed 60th in the 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup standings.

The Eagles totaled 264.00 points during the academic year, receiving contributions from five programs that advanced to NCAA DII Championship competition.

The Learfield Directors' Cup, developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today, awards points based on institutional success in NCAA postseason competition.

Biola opened the year with 52 points from women's cross country. The Eagles finished 22nd at the NCAA Division II National Championships, helping Biola place 104th in the Learfield Directors' Cup fall standings.

The Eagles made their biggest move during the spring season, accumulating 212 points to climb 25 spots in the national standings.

The Biola men's tennis and softball teams supplied the largest portions of the Eagles' total, with each program contributing 64 points. Men's tennis earned its total after advancing to the NCAA Division II Championships and finishing the season among the nation's top programs. Softball matched that mark after winning the NCAA West Regional and advancing to the NCAA Super Regional, continuing one of the most successful postseason runs in program history.

Track and field added another 84 points to the Eagles' total. Women's track and field contributed 37.5 points after a season highlighted by a PacWest Conference Championship, four athletes qualifying for the NCAA National Championships and three All-American performances from Eboselulu Omofoma. Men's track and field added 46.5 points after sending two athletes to the NCAA National Championships, highlighted by an All-American performance and national runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles by Joshua Widdows.

The Eagles' 264 points ranked third among PacWest Conference institutions and capped another successful year for Biola Athletics. During the 2025-26 campaign, the department claimed conference championship titles in men's and women's cross country and women's track and field.
