Eagles Add Strength & Conditioning Coach, Frank Ramirez

Frank Ramirez leaves CSU Long Beach to join the athletics staff at Biola.

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Frank Ramirez has joined the Biola Athletics staff as the university's first full-time Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Ramirez joins the Biola family after accumulating years of experience at the NCAA Division I level and at local high schools and junior colleges. His biggest piece of prior experience was his work as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Long Beach State from 2010-16.

"Adding Frank Ramirez as the first Biola Strength and Conditioning Coach will have a great impact on Biola Athletics," said Director of Athletics Dr. Bethany Miller. "He brings a wealth of expertise and experience to Biola and has already built strong rapport with our student-athletes and coaches."

During his time at the Beach, Ramirez primarily worked with the men and women's cross country team, the middle distance runners on the track & field team, golf and women's water polo. He also worked with the head Strength & Conditioning Coach to develop plans for women's basketball, women's volleyball and baseball.

His experiences reaches much wider than the NCAA Division I level though, as Ramirez has also worked part time as the head Strength & Conditioning coach for programs at Warren High School and La Mirada High School.

He's earned his official CSCS certification through the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is TPI Certified Level I from the Titleist Performance Institute.

"Having a staff position in this area will elevate the professionalism of our program through more attention to injury prevention and nutrition, and provide opportunity for our student-athletes to reach their full potential in their physical training," said Miller. "Overall, it will benefit the student-athlete experience in our programs, and we are thrilled to add such a quality coach to our department."

Prior to entering his career as a Strength & Conditioning Coach Ramirez was an assistant basketball coach and he played for LA Harbor College from 2005-07.

Ramirez resides in Brea, California and attends Cottonwood Church.
